Gestational Carrier Spotlight: Ivana F.

Gestational Carrier, Ivana, embracing her surrogacy pregnancy.

"Gestational Carrier Spotlight" is a new recognition yield blog series meant to surface stories of the amazing individuals behind our family development platform. Every month, we’ll get to the heart our gestational carriers so you can get to know them a little bit better and find out what makes them truly remarkable.

Our first GC Spotlight goes to Ivana. Ivana is a hard working mother who decided to be a gestational carrier for all the right reasons. When we first interviewed Ivana, she stuck out in a way that was so unique. She truly amazed us with her drive and willingness to help a family struggling with infertility.

We had the opportunity to ask Ivana about her experience going through our program. Let's dive right in to her Q&A, shall we?

Tell us about yourself?

My name is Ivana and I'm 34 years old. I was born and raised in Europe. I've been living in Las Vegas for the past 7 years. I'm truly a family person; family means everything to me.

What made you decide to become a gestational carrier?

I decided to become a Gestational carrier because I love children and I know just how important family is.

My friend was trying to conceive for about 10 years. She finally got pregnant with a beautiful baby boy but unfortunately he passed away a week later. Just feeling her pain and suffering has influenced my decision to help another family. I am currently going through the journey now and am really honored that I am making someone's dream come true.

What was the best part of your gestational carrier journey?

The best part of my journey is the fact that I'm doing something amazing and I have a lot of positive support from my family and friends. I got to know lot of people who has been with me throughout this whole process and I know I can always count on them. Their support is everything.

Did you have any cravings during your gestational pregnancy?

I didn't have any cravings,I had morning sickness :)

Would you ever become a gestational carrier again given the opportunity?

100%! I would definitely be a Gestational carrier again. This experience has been life changing in the best way.

Do you have any tips for women who are thinking to be a gestational carrier?

My advice for those who are considering being a gestational carrier is that you need to have a lot of patience and love for this. It's hard in the beginning especially if you have a full time job because of all the doctors appointments and all the medication that you need to take but if you are very organized and patient you can make it work! To be honest, the hardest part for me was taking the injections.

What made you choose Gestational Concepts and how was your experience?

I was looking to find an agency that didn't care about making money on surrogacy. Jennifer was my case manager and she was AMAZING. She does her job with lot of love and passion. She cares for people and she was there for me from day one! The entire agency was very professional and helpful. They always answered all my questions and everything has been easy and smooth for me.
